Princess Tutu Club
I hope everyone is well. Yes, the last entry and announcement continued our annual tradition of posting an April Fool's Day contest. I hope you enjoyed the little homage to the podcast Welcome to Night Vale.

Now it is time for the real updates. First, I would like to share some overdue congratulations to our entrants to the February contest. Congratulations to Diamond-Master, Madame-Sky, and gezusgeek for their entries to the Hermia and Lysander spotlight contest. Your entries will share the front page spotlight with the winner of our March contest, mayuralover. Congratulations to you all and thank you for participating.

Now that we're past the usual prank day, I am pleased to announce the April contest. While the Princess Tutu series does take place in a fantastical place, the use of fantastical elements are kept pretty low key, helping to create the slightly off atmosphere that made the world what it is. This time, we're going delve a little deeper into the fantastical elements that could have been put in place. We want you to draw upon your inner Tolkien or RPGer or other high-fantasy influences and put a little more blatant magic in the series. Instead of the surreal fantasy of the series, what would the characters be like if they were in a world like Tolkien's Middle Earth, or the various Dungeons and Dragons fantasy settings, or the fantasy video games of Ragnarok Online and some of the Final Fantasy series? What role or class would Ahiru, Fakir, Rue, Mytho, and others be? What adventures might they get into? What kinds of quests would they have?

It's time to play around and find out! You have until April 27 to get your entries in.

In addition to our contest, I also wanted to announce that we are looking for new moderators to help run the club. If you're interested, please send us a note.

I hope to have time to do something for this month's contest. But, I have an older piece that's been posted elsewhere (never on dA) that would fit as well. Would it be permissible to enter it, or (as I've assumed all along) must all entries be new, as part of the challenge to finish them within the allotted time? Just checking....

We prefer pieces that are created for the prompt, or around the time of the prompt. It's part of the whole challenge aspect of our contests. So it's a no on pre-existing art. But feel free to submit it to the main gallery.

That's what I thought, but I didn't remember seeing a rule to that effect. Thanks for clarifying that!

Yeah, it's rarely posted in the specific contests, but it's in the general contest rules in the About Us page.

Don`t you think about making Princess Tutu OC contest? Agiotage would be enormous =)

It has crossed my mind personally, but we tend to try to keep things in line with the overall theme of the club, which is focused on the canon characters. We've allowed a few instances for OCs, like the families contest we held a while back. Having an OC focused contest is an option, but something the admins would have to agree on. If there were demand for it, maybe.
