Please keep in mind we only affiliate with related groups. So ballet, Princess Tutu, or Itoh-sensei's other series.

Hello, all. Sorry for the slow updates.

First is the result of the poll for changing Rule Five of the group rules (… ). The votes are in, and the modification to the rule has been approved. For those who missed past conversations about the rule, Rule Five is about what can and cannot be accepted, and included a clause about not submitting others' existing deviations. This was a hold over from the very start of the group and having to manually copy submissions and linking back to the original creations (if anyone remembers those first two years, you'll also remember how you weren't supposed to fave the club deviations because the information would not get to the original artist fun times.) The creation of the DeviantArt Groups allows more control, direct linking to the original deviation, and the final say goes to the original creator. So, because the old clause is no longer applicable, members can now submit existing deviations to the club.

Keep in mind that the rest of the rule as pertains to art theft and artist credit (for things such as digital brushes and photo/stock photo resources) will still apply. We do not tolerate art theft or posting of others' work without permission, and we will continue to not accept pieces that use series artwork (from any series), doujinshi scans, or modified artwork of another artist.

Please be judicious in your submissions of existing deviations. We understand that you want to share the amazing artwork and writing that others may have missed, but you don't have to submit every piece. And please remember to submit the pieces to the correct gallery/folder. The Featured is for non-contest fanart and visual art, Cosplay is for cosplay and costume-related submissions, Fanfiction is for written submissions, including prose and poetry, and Memes and Devious Fun is for stamps, memes, and other fun but not as strictly original creations that would be accepted in the other galleries (you should still have original artwork for this; stamps are the only ones that we really accept official artwork for because of size). Submitting to the right folders makes it easier for browsers to find what they're looking for, and it helps us moderators keep things neat.

And last, you have more than a week left to submit some entries to this month's contest, "Pirates." Adventure on the high seas! Let's see what adventures the PT cast would have with this scenario.

Thank you

I hope to have time to do something for this month's contest. But, I have an older piece that's been posted elsewhere (never on dA) that would fit as well. Would it be permissible to enter it, or (as I've assumed all along) must all entries be new, as part of the challenge to finish them within the allotted time? Just checking....

We prefer pieces that are created for the prompt, or around the time of the prompt. It's part of the whole challenge aspect of our contests. So it's a no on pre-existing art. But feel free to submit it to the main gallery.

That's what I thought, but I didn't remember seeing a rule to that effect. Thanks for clarifying that!

Yeah, it's rarely posted in the specific contests, but it's in the general contest rules in the About Us page.

Don`t you think about making Princess Tutu OC contest? Agiotage would be enormous =)
Asatira Featured By Owner Jan 7, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
It has crossed my mind personally, but we tend to try to keep things in line with the overall theme of the club, which is focused on the canon characters. We've allowed a few instances for OCs, like the families contest we held a while back. Having an OC focused contest is an option, but something the admins would have to agree on. If there were demand for it, maybe.

Is there going to be a December contest?
Asatira Featured By Owner Dec 15, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
No, sorry. We tend to take a break during December, so no contests.
