Princess Tutu Club
Hello, everyone. The anniversary contest has come to a close, and with it I am glad to announce the winners. We had three wonderful entries that will be posted to the group's front page: "The First Battle of the Raven" by TomoyoIchijouji, "Heart Unbroken" by MoonShadowMagic, and "To Falter" by Waifine. Congratulations to all three!

February is once again upon us, and for many it also means the mixed-feelings inducing holiday, Valentine's Day. For some it is a day where you are required choose to show your appreciation to the significant other in your life, while for others it's a reminder of how single you are. But a strong feature of the holiday is declarations of love. With that in mind, we are reprising Will You Be Mine? and seeing how the populace of Gold Crown Town express their loves. Maybe someone chooses to call upon the services of Bottom to deliver a love confession? Or maybe there's another town tradition tied to love? You can choose to explore declarations of love or have some fun with Valentine's cards. The choice is yours.

You have until February 27 to get your submissions in. Good luck!

To Falter by Waifine
Popular Choice: "To Falter" by Waifine
Heart UnbrokenPrince Siegfried had no time to be surprised when his last option but one succeeded.
The thought of invoking the last uncertain magic, of piercing his own heart to release the feelings that would then be free to fight on their own, had been in the back of his mind ever since his first sight of the Raven that had ravaged his kingdom. But there was always the doubt – he might simply die, as any ordinary man must, and then everything that was left would be truly lost to the hideous greed of the enemy. Duty forbade it, yet. He did not permit himself to think of Princess Tutu; those reflections were for the peace before the Raven, or the peace he might find after, although the hermit whose words his hopes hung upon seemed to think that only that final shattering would call her ....
The Prince was fighting on instinct, without leisure for thought. The Raven was trying to blast his enemy from the air, and was fully extending his wings for a final time, and the Prince had begun to move a

The First Battle of the RavenThe Raven had first touched down in a small town in Germany named Goldkrone, ironically one of the few cities in the world with a still complete wall built around it.  When it appeared, no one knew from where this gargantuan sentient monster came from, but it wasted no time in letting the world know its presence.
It darkened the skies and spread chaos throughout the region, covering the land in a black cloud of malicious crows, all demanding that they give them "the Prince's heart".  There was only one strange force that seemed to be able to battle against this menace, and all most could see of it was a flurry of flower petals in the air that flew hither and fro.
The people of Germany were baffled at this seemingly extraterrestrial invader in their midst, and the government spared no time in declaring a state of emergency and sending in troops to free the town from its clutches.
The battle was fierce and astonishing to watch.  This being was obviously used to terrorizing

I hope to have time to do something for this month's contest. But, I have an older piece that's been posted elsewhere (never on dA) that would fit as well. Would it be permissible to enter it, or (as I've assumed all along) must all entries be new, as part of the challenge to finish them within the allotted time? Just checking....

We prefer pieces that are created for the prompt, or around the time of the prompt. It's part of the whole challenge aspect of our contests. So it's a no on pre-existing art. But feel free to submit it to the main gallery.

That's what I thought, but I didn't remember seeing a rule to that effect. Thanks for clarifying that!

Yeah, it's rarely posted in the specific contests, but it's in the general contest rules in the About Us page.

It has crossed my mind personally, but we tend to try to keep things in line with the overall theme of the club, which is focused on the canon characters. We've allowed a few instances for OCs, like the families contest we held a while back. Having an OC focused contest is an option, but something the admins would have to agree on. If there were demand for it, maybe.
