:iconclub-tutu: February 2015 Contest
Spotlight: Hermia and Lysander

Here at Club-Tutu, we try to show our appreciation of every element within the series Princess Tutu that makes it so enjoyable. Every now and then, we like to shine the spotlight on characters that don't receive as much attention as other members of the cast. For this month's challenge, and appropriate for Valentine's month, is a spotlight on Hermia and Lysander.

Do you need to make a confession of love? Give your letter to Bottom and he'll deliver it to your love. But what of the deliverer? What of the tall girl named Hermia who could see what others felt? And what of the distant sculptor Lysander? Write a story or give an image of either Hermia, Lysander, or both.

Deadline: Feb. 28, 11 p.m. PST

Things to keep in mind:
bullletred: This is a spotlight contest, and that means the spotlight character must be featured prominently in the piece. For fiction entries, the story must have Hermia, Lysander, or both as the focus of the story; one or both must be the figure that somehow propels the action of the story. For art entries, Hermia or Lysander must literally take up approximately one third of the image, at minimum.
:bulletblack: Pre- and post-series scenarios are allowed, but must remain believably within the universe of the series. No AU scenarios.

To Enter:
:bulletpink: Both fan art & fan fiction are accepted.
:bulletgreen: Only entries that adhere to the rules set in the contest prompt will be accepted.
:bulletpink: To be an official entry, you must submit your piece into the "2015 FEB Contest" gallery folder by the deadline.
:bulletgreen: After the deadline has passed, the folder will be closed and no new submissions will be accepted.
:bulletpink: As per general contest rules, you are allowed to submit up to three entries. (Admin may only submit one.)

Popular Choice:
Feature on the club front page.
Admins' Choice: Feature on the club front page.

Please keep in mind we only affiliate with related groups. So ballet, Princess Tutu, or Itoh-sensei's other series.

Yes. We sometimes take a while to approve, but we usually accept everyone.

Thank you

I hope to have time to do something for this month's contest. But, I have an older piece that's been posted elsewhere (never on dA) that would fit as well. Would it be permissible to enter it, or (as I've assumed all along) must all entries be new, as part of the challenge to finish them within the allotted time? Just checking....

We prefer pieces that are created for the prompt, or around the time of the prompt. It's part of the whole challenge aspect of our contests. So it's a no on pre-existing art. But feel free to submit it to the main gallery.

That's what I thought, but I didn't remember seeing a rule to that effect. Thanks for clarifying that!

Yeah, it's rarely posted in the specific contests, but it's in the general contest rules in the About Us page.

Don`t you think about making Princess Tutu OC contest? Agiotage would be enormous =)
Asatira Featured By Owner Jan 7, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
It has crossed my mind personally, but we tend to try to keep things in line with the overall theme of the club, which is focused on the canon characters. We've allowed a few instances for OCs, like the families contest we held a while back. Having an OC focused contest is an option, but something the admins would have to agree on. If there were demand for it, maybe.

Is there going to be a December contest?
Asatira Featured By Owner Dec 15, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
No, sorry. We tend to take a break during December, so no contests.
